Jon-Paul Harmer, MD

Dr. Harmer attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Duke University, where he was recognized as an Education Scholar and received the honor of Outstanding Contributor to Medical Student Education. Following residency, Dr. Harmer pursued an accredited fellowship in Pain Management through the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Utah. During his fellowship, he trained under internationally respected leaders in the field, including two former presidents of the American Pain Society.

Dr. Harmer is internationally board certified by the World Institute of Pain in Budapest, Hungary, and holds the distinction of being a Fellow of Interventional Pain Management. He also serves as an expert witness for the Texas State Medical Board and the DEA, contributing his expertise to protect patients and uphold the integrity of medical practice.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Harmer has a strong commitment to service and family. He spent two years as a volunteer missionary in Mexico, where he became fluent in Spanish. Locally, he has served for over 20 years as a lay minister and youth minister with The Restored Church of Jesus Christ. A devoted father of seven, he has coached all of his children in football, basketball, track, and soccer, reflecting his passion for mentorship, teamwork, and community involvement.
